Full Job Description
- Software Team Lead for the Typhoon Active Cockpit Rig (ACR) - based at Warton and reporting to the Engineering Manager for the Simulation & Synthetic Engineering Department
- General day to day duties would include managing task delivery, people management, quality control and operational management
- Operationally manage the project tasks to ensure the team and wider resources are prioritised in line with contract needs and against planned deliverables / milestones to ensure that schedules are maintained
- Managing personnel & sub-contract staff for the Warton & Filton based groups ensuring that they operate as an integrated team. Team size is typically 12-20 engineers
- Working closely with the ACR Facility Lead to ensure the ACR provides an efficient design prototyping service with simulation facilities that support our internal customers, the Typhoon Cockpit Group. This includes managing the software engineering activities, ensuring configuration control and documentation is to the required quality and standard
Degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience - Experience of Software Project Management on complex projects
- Agile methodology experience, with experience of Jira toolset
- Experience of leading teams and managing personnel
- Familiarity with C/C++ Language would be desirable
- Knowledge and experience of Simulation Software, working in Mission Systems/Defence domain would also be desirable
