Full Job Description

You'll be leading a team of four colleagues with a high level of accountability. You'll be hands on with business development activity and leading on client work. You'll understand litigation processes and be able to work alongside our Personal Injury Litigation team and Court of Protection team. You'll support Partners to grow the business and deliver excellent client service whilst undertaking high value and/or complex work within court of Protection.

Your role will involve:

  • Team leadership responsibilities

  • Working with our Personal Injury litigation team

  • Take instructions from clients and give legal advice

  • 0-4yrs PQE in Court of Protection

  • Experience leading a team

  • Experience in business development and leading client work is essential

  • Understanding litigation processes alongside Court of Protection work

  • Some experience with Mental Capacity Work

  • High level of accountability

  • Leading and participating in practice development

  • Highly organised

  • Commercial awareness

  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently

  • Ability to work in a pressurised environment

    Your Role and What You'll Be Doing

    The Court of Protection is the judicial body responsible for making decisions relating to the management of finances and other affairs of those individuals who lack the mental capacity to do so themselves. As one of the UK's leading firms of solicitors, we have a dedicated and experienced team who specialise in all matters relating to the Court of Protection.

    You'll join Partner Charlotte Waite, a specialist in the field of damages management. Charlotte assists individuals to manage their personal injury or clinical negligence compensation, either through the Court of Protection or by way of a personal injury trust.

    This is a Birmingham based role, and there will be a requirement to be in the office for a minimum of two days per week.
