About Us:

Bi-borough Legal Services is a highly respected in-house shared legal service, supporting Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea & Westminster City Council, delivering people-centric services for residents in two of the most exciting areas in London. You will handle a varied and exciting caseload.

You will be joining a diverse team of talented and friendly lawyers who are committed to putting local people and local businesses at the heart of town and place shaping and decision-making.

The Role:

Kensington and Chelsea is one of the most liveable areas of London and attracts people from all over the world to live, work and visit. Part of this attraction comes from the variety of our cultural offerings such as the Notting Hill carnival and the museums and also from our internationally renowned town centres. Another distinct feature of the Borough is the village-like character of some of our neighbourhoods and the large number of historic buildings, townscapes, squares and public spaces. Kensington and Chelsea is also home to a multicultural population who are proud of their incredible neighbourhoods and the future promise that these neighbourhoods hold.

Our Bi-borough Legal Services Planning Team's work is the cornerstone of overseeing all commercial, cultural and residential planning and enforcement within the Borough which includes creating some the UK's most stimulating property development and regeneration projects, whilst protecting the special characteristics of this unique Borough.

As part of one of the top performing local authority legal planning teams in the UK this is a unique opportunity to facilitate career development and ensure compliance in one of London's most exciting boroughs. You will use your knowledge of planning and associated highways laws to provide comprehensive advice in relation to a range of issues and to members at planning committees. Negotiating legal agreements, flagging up risks and supporting enforcement, you will be central to helping the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea make informed planning decisions.
