We have an exciting new role of Solutions Configuration Manager (CM) to join Thales Training Simulation (TTS). Our simulators and training services help seasoned staff keep up-to-date, and equip the next generation of armed forces across the World, from fighter pilots to front-line soldiers. We provide nations with products ranging from computer-based training (CBT), through to full-motion flight simulators and fully equipped in-theatre replica armoured vehicles. As a Solutions Configuration Manager you'll be responsible for the registration and release of data managed in configuration. You will verify the integrity, validity and maintenance of records relating to the data, including traceability and history over the entire life cycle. This is a key role in coordinating others Configuration Management roles or delegate some activities to the Configuration Administration roles for the concerned perimeter. Performing CM planning for new and existing projects and to ensure the correct definition of the product and its defining data in addition to providing feedback on the efficiency and effectiveness of the development environment, and report on CM Key Performance Indicators. What the role has to offer

  • Support the identification of contract/subcontract requirements to ensure effective CM performance of partners and suppliers
  • Audit & Assess Contractors and Suppliers to ensure CM processes, systems and deliverables meet requirements.
  • Participate in the design / stage reviews (PDR, CDR…).
  • Responsible for the establishment & maintenance of configuration baselines (FBL, ABL, PBL)
  • Participate in the selection of configuration items and subsequent product breakdown structures and Bills of Materials.
  • Establish and maintain the configuration change management system, including internal and external CCBs and performs the Configuration Control Board (CCB) Secretary role.
  • Co-ordinate and control the configuration change process for design change including item change, document change, deviations and waivers, concessions and trail modifications.
  • Support the generation of estimates.

    Experienced with configuration management processes and tools, particularly those linked with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
  • A good knowledge of the operational processes and methods (Bid & projects, Engineering, Production, Services) Knowledge of system integration principles (System, Hardware and Software) The ability to adapt and assess the configuration management system as well as the contractual and commercial requirements within your scope Adopted Lean Management approach and apply Agile principles to the management and development of the team Ability to create buy-in explaining / detailing your needs and initiatives Previous Experience with configuration management in either defence, engineering organisations or experience in delivery of MOD projects Experience in working to standards such as DEF Stan 00-057 or similar is highly desirable Flexibility Your health and well-being matters to us and that's why we offer you the flexibility to do what's important to you; whether that's part time hours, job sharing, home working, or the ability to flex your start and finish times.
