Full Job Description

Specific Responsibilities To work with and support an inter-disciplinary team of nurses, rehabilitation assistants, physiotherapists, acupuncturist, speech and language therapists, psychologists and occupational therapists delivering care and rehabilitation. To await confirmation from treating psychotherapist before assessing and identifying clients suitable for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. To develop treatment plans to manage issues or symptoms of stress, anxiety, insomnia, pain management, memory, concentration, low self-esteem and confidence. To work under the supervision of psychotherapy team at STEPS in relation to PTSD and depression. To use a range of techniques where appropriate including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness Coaching, Compassion-Led Therapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming. To assist clients to set realistic goals using Solution Brief Therapy techniques and document/ review their progress. To work jointly with the acupuncturist on site to provide combined
Acu-Hypno treatments for pain and stress management and promotion of healthy sleep patterns. To work autonomously with support available from a senior therapist as required. Identifying any additional support needs and refer to other health specialist as required. To use equipment such as a Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) monitor to assess and monitor client's ongoing progress. To maintain accurate and contemporaneous documentation according to STEPS standards including clinical notes and reports. To regularly attend IDT meeting and review meetings where required. To complete and update clients reports where required within a timely manner. To apply manual handling principles as outlined by legislation and department procedures. To take part in regular supervision from a senior supervisor. To contribute to service development initiatives and promote high quality care for clients at all times. To escalate issues as required following STEPS guidance and operating procedures. To be compliant
with the clinical governance requirements operating within STEPS procedures. To participate in clinical audits and research as and when directed by a supervising therapist. To be flexible and able to offer support to other clinical areas as required.
