Solutions Designer

Do you like puzzles? Are you comfortable diving into the numbers and developing creative solutions to problems? Are you interested by advances in technology or sustainability? Solutions Design is a critical function where success is dependent on working effectively with many other departments such as Operations, Business Development, CRE, RES, Automation, Accelerated Digitalization, IT, Finance and Commercial across all levels. We currently have an opening within out Solutions Design team for a Solutions Designer. As a member of the Solutions Design team, you will play a key role in the development and design of supply chain solutions for new business opportunities as well as for existing customers. We are looking for someone to act as a work stream lead where you will manage the early design principles and assumptions, project risks and issues, detailed design phase, as well as implementation support. Solutions Design are expected to be at the forefront of industry best practice and this knowledge will allow you to benchmark and validate supply chain solutions. In conjunction, you will also conduct sensitivity analysis and stress testing to future proof designs. WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL? As part of your normal duties, you will be responsible for:

• Design end-to-end manual and mechanised operational solutions covering the following areas:
+ Data analysis (using either MS Excel or Power BI to an expert level) + Process flow creation + Equipment selection (including technologies) + Operational methodology selection + Layout design (using (AutoCAD or Sketch-up) + Resource modelling + Cost modelling
• Design-end to-end solutions with automation / robotics with senior support and coaching
• Ability to self -manage workload and timescales.
• Demonstrate excellent customer engagement skills.
• Use influencing skills with stakeholders for example to gain operational buy in on a solution.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills for example keeping stakeholders engaged and informed.

• Knowledge of divisional supply chain products and capabilities, with an understanding of DHL sectors, customers, and products.
• Understanding of the end-to-end supply chain experience.
• Experience in industries such as e-Commerce, Omni-channel, Life Sciences, Aviation & Travel and Packaging Solutions (Co-pack) and/or in settings with significant VAS/re-work/kitting activities would be advantageous.
