Sonographer

As a specialised women's health unit, the work includes gynae, obstetrics, cancer pathways and a dedicated early pregnancy unit. We work closely with our consultant leads including scanning with our fetal medicine consultant. You will have the opportunity to develop your organisational and clinical skills within this post. There is an opportunity for career progression and support for those newly qualified. We are actively involved in CPD, clinical governance and audit., Our department performs a wide range of scans including: GP gynae, rapid access, dating scans, NT scans, anomaly scans, growth scans and multiple pregnancy. There is a separate, dedicated emergency department where both early pregnancy and emergency gynae scans are performed.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the ultrasound department at the Tunbridge Wells hospital,( Pembury site) the unit has five scan rooms in the main department, one in Triage and one in the early pregnancy unit.

The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 760,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.
The Trust's core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs. We work from two main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients - the first of its kind in the country.

Tunbridge wells hospital is a PFI built in 2009, it offers subsidised parking, restaurant and has a nursery on the Maidstone site with free bus travel between sites.
Flexible working up to full time (37.5hrs) to help with work/life balance would be considered.
Ideally the sonographer must hold the following qualifications DMU, PG cert or equivalent.
