Full Job Description

Continuous Professional Development is actively supported through an established appraisal system, in-service training and opportunities for further post graduate study in line with operational needs and strategic vision. Ultrasound/Radiology is committed to offering the best possible care to our patients and this requires dedication from all our staff and this role will be no exception. We will expect you to share our passion for achieving excellence in the care of our patients. You will work as part of the broader ultrasound team and will rotate through the department; independently perform and report on Obstetric, Gynae and General Abdominal ultrasound scans. This will include performing unsupervised sessions in off-site locations and working in the newly developed Community Diagnostic Centre, when it opens in early 2025. This is a busy role with varying demands, so building an effective rapport with patients and colleagues and being ready to take guidance and offer your support will be really important. You will be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and patients. Including discussing the findings of the ultrasound examination with the patient, and interpreting, reporting, recording and referring on as required all within the protocols of the department. Work autonomously undertaking different shift patterns at NNUH, and at other locations, as required in the provision of a 7 day ultrasound service.

Join us at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and be part of a workforce of over 10,000 staff! The NNUH is one of the largest NHS trusts in the UK, providing first-class acute care for around one million people, living in Norfolk and surrounding areas. We are a teaching and research hospital, at the forefront of innovation, home to state-of-the-art facilities, such as the Quadram Institute. We are pleased to work closely with the University of East Anglia, providing teaching opportunities for our staff and placement opportunities for their students. We attract some of the best and leading professionals from across the country and are proud that our workforce represents 94 countries from across the world. We are a friendly, collaborative hospital, working with local services and home to N&N Hospitals Charity

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Sonographer to join our team in a full time or part time role on a permanent basis.
