Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time NHS sonographer appointment (2-days a week) to work in the Gynaecology Diagnostic and Outpatient Treatment Unit on a 12-month basis covering maternity leave. The post-holder will perform routine gynaecological ultrasound examinations for patients with a wide range of presentations including pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, suspected fibroids, and family history of gynaecological cancer.

The post holder will work as a specialist diagnostic practitioner in gynaecology ultrasound and will be responsible for carrying out the appropriate diagnostic procedures to support delivery of both routine and subspecialty clinical services.

The applicant will work at UCLH only and will be based in the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Wing within the Gynaecology Diagnostic and Outpatient Treatment Unit.

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly, however, the standard rota will be sessions on Tuesday and Thursday.

There is an opportunity to undertake extended hours, providing ultrasound cover on evenings or on Saturday and/or Sunday mornings from 9am to 3pm with compensatory leave during the week or for overtime payments.
