As a Sous Chef you will join our dedicated catering team, who produce outstanding food using the finest and freshest ingredients in this exclusive innovative private healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar environment, be customer facing, and have a passion for innovation, who is skilled in fresh food delivery and passionate about food. As this is a busy hospital environment open every day 365 days per year, the ability to work on a rotating schedule, including weekends, is essential. - Coordinate Meal Production: Manage the preparation of all meals, ensuring that special dietary requirements for patients are met.
- Monitor and Record Temperature Checks: Complete and document all necessary temperature checks for food and equipment.
- Ensure Adequate Stock Levels: Maintain agreed stock levels, ensuring a sufficient supply of goods to meet the needs of both the restaurant and patients.
- Manage Patient Meal Delivery: Oversee the timely and accurate delivery of patient meals to ward areas.
- Adhere to Safety and Compliance Standards: Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, company policies, and safety standards in the provision of patient meal services.
- Conduct Quality Control Audits: Perform routine quality control audits to measure the performance of all aspects of catering services.
- Train and Manage Staff: Train all catering staff on proper procedures, including machinery use, and manage staff performance to achieve high service standards.
Food Hygiene Certificate level 3 - preferable - Well-developed English language skills (written and spoken)
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to be an effective team player.
- Flexible, with the ability to work under pressure; able to cope with a demanding fluctuating service.
- Experience within high volume catering.
- Previous experience at Sous chef level and shift leadership
- Excellent culinary skills
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with all stakeholders
- Good IT skills with knowledge of word and excel.
- High standards of personal presentation
- Experience with Food Allergies, Special Diets and Labelling
