Full Job Description

Our Degree Apprenticeships offer a full degree with no fees, plus vocational training with a regular salary. You will study towards a Bachelor's Degree in Project Management at a local University, the course duration is typically 4 years and your attendance will be on a day or block release basis. Project managers are responsible for the end-to-end delivery of a project. They have responsibility for delivering the project in line with defined objectives, taking decisions to manage stakeholder expectations by leading a multi-skilled, cross-disciplinary team to deliver the project to time, cost and quality requirements. While 'in the office', you will join the Supply Chain Quality Management (SCQM) team. As a SCQM, you will be the primary interface with the nominated supplier(s) and responsible for the relationship between the supplier and Airbus. You will be fully responsible for managing the purchase phase of the supply chain core process and delivery of hardware to projects on time, to cost and fulfilling all performance and quality requirements. Via industrial placements, you will also gain exposure to other areas of the business (equipment/spacecraft production, logistics, Product/Quality Assurance, systems engineering etc.) in order to attain a broad understanding of all stakeholder's activities and to build a strong network. What you will be doing: Whilst at work:

  • Responsibility for the On Time and On Quality (OTOQ) from suppliers of complex and high value RF equipment for Telecommunications Spacecraft
  • Day-to-day contact with the supplier and management of contract implementation (multi-project, international); timely and accurate reporting and facilitation of appropriate technical interaction between internal experts and supplier
  • Acquiring in-depth knowledge of supplier leading to effective control and improvement, identifying risks and ensuring implementation of appropriate mitigating actions
  • Management of project lifecycle; coordination of key stakeholders, chairing reviews, ensure drum beating and action follow up to maintain key project milestones
  • Escalation, both at the supplier or within Airbus as relevant - communication to all levels of the business
  • Whilst at university, you will gain knowledge and understanding of:

  • Space Systems Engineering Degree, In order to be eligible to this apprenticeship, you must have a minimum of:
  • 3 A Levels at Grades A to C, or a vocational equivalent
  • AND
  • GCSE Maths and English Language at 4/C or above
  • Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:
