Full Job Description

We are:

We are a 'Good' school (Ofsted, April 2024) which is vibrant and purposeful. We are a co-educational, comprehensive state boarding school for children aged 7 to 18 years, with approximately 670 flexi-borders and 430 full boarders. The school is a popular choice for local families who attend on our flexi boarding package, as well as for full boarders from further afield in the UK and internationally. This is due to a wide range of factors including our facilities, academic pathways and results, pastoral care, the boarding and flexi-boarding ethos and environment, wide range of trips and co-curricular activities and the resultant attitudes of its students.

We offer:

  • Strong induction programme

  • Beautiful estate set in 260 acres of parkland

  • On-site parking

  • Convenient location, close to the A23 and M25

  • We are seeking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated SENDCo and invite applications from professionals with vision and ambition to inspire and lead on the on-going development of SEND policy and provision across the school.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to be responsible for day-to-day implementation of the SEND policy and coordination of specific provision to support individual students with SEND. We want to recruit someone who puts students first and proactively focuses on the development, sharing and monitoring of best practice across the school so that our students have the best educational opportunities and a positive school experience.

For more information about this post, please view our applicant brochure which includes the job description and person specification.

We highly value applicants visiting our school before submitting their applications. Please contact SEND@gatton-park.org.uk to schedule a visit with our current SENDCo who will take you on a tour of our school and answer any questions you might have about our school or the role.
