Full Job Description
As the Clinical Lead Nurse you will oversee and support the management of a complex clinical caseload of patients with specialist clinical services as an autonomous practitioner.
You'll act as a role model for more junior members in the team, demonstrating a high level of skill and knowledge in a designated
specialist area of clinical practice.
You will actively participate in the education and training of staff and students, taking a lead role in the organisation, implementation and evaluation of internal and external training programmes.
The role will require 80 per cent clinical and 20 per cent service development based
on the dependency of the clinical speciality

First Degree in professional nursing / therapy, Non-medical independent prescriber Professional Registration Evidence of continued professional development appropriate to role Evidence of postgraduate education in specialist clinical area
Desirable criteria
Membership of appropriate Special Interest Group(s) Masters degree or willingness to work towards Accreditation for Clinical education Clinical Supervisor
EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
Previous experience working at Band 6 / 7 Experience of supervising and appraising staff / students Experience working as a clinical educator / mentor Experience of participation in audit Experience in supervisory and teaching skills Experience of managing complaints Knowledge and experience of quality issues, clinical governance and outcome measures Experience in implementing change of clinical practice or process
Desirable criteria
Experience of working in both acute and community settings, Understanding of multi-disciplinary working and inter-professional relationships Research awareness Understanding of relevant legislation Knowledge of up to date clinical practice and current issues relating to profession, Excellent in-depth assessment skills and ability to make clinical judgments under pressure Advanced clinical and non-clinical reasoning skills Ability to plan, prioritise and manage own and others caseload Problem solving approach Advanced communication skills Appraisal skills IT skills Ability to work as a team member and clinically lead a team Travel in a timely manner, Excellent time management Excellent interpersonal skills Enthusiasm Confident and approachable manner Team player Committed to personal and team development Clear vision of role and commitment to specialty Flexibility
