Specialised Therapy Technician (PT- with PT / OT weekend tasks)

This is a direct replacement for an established B3 post which supports the delivery of specialist therapy services within the St George's Stroke services. The role is integral to delivery of 7 day working., This post is integral to the delivery of activity within neurosciences with clear specifications around staffing ratios, timeliness of assessment and intensity of rehabilitation; supporting therapists in the early assessment, early rehabilitation, functional retraining and discharge planning of patients. The role is essential in order to support/facilitate flow and patient care through clinical pathways and the post supports the delivery of 7 day services.

Clinical:

This post delivers ten clinical PA's per week. The position is specialised and needs to be at a Band 3 level due to the clinical complexity of patients' managed. The post holder is required to deliver specialist clinical treatment under guidance from registered therapists, as well as lead group sessions. This level of expertise is required to support patients with complex physical, cognitive and communication impairments. Supporting delivery of specialist interventions such as splinting and casting, complex seating and manual handling.

Administrative management:

The post holder supports the neurosciences therapy team providing daily clinical and administrative support integral to safe service delivery such as maintenance of specialist equipment (e.g. motomed, standing frames, tilt tables, splinting and casting materials, stocktake)

The role is essential in order to facilitate flow and patient care through clinical pathways and the post supports the delivery of 7 day therapy services.
