Full Job Description
We are seeking to appoint 2 highly skilled and experienced teachers to our very successful Communication and Interaction Team (Autism), part of Nottinghamshire's SEND Inclusion Team (Schools and Families Specialist Services).
You would be using your knowledge, skills and experience to develop and deliver effective strategies/interventions aimed at improving outcomes for children and young people with complex communication difficulties associated with the Autism in Key stages 2-5.
You would be working at a variety of levels, using positive and inclusive approaches to provide support and advice to school staff, liaising with parents and engaging in direct teaching where appropriate. Support from a team of dedicated specialist teaching assistants ensures that a flexibility of approaches can be offered.
In order for the team to continue to improve provision and outcomes for this vulnerable group, we are looking for teachers who are knowledgeable about the National Curriculum and the barriers young people with communication and interaction differences face. We welcome applications from highly motivated, creative practitioners, who enjoy working in a collaborative, solution-focussed way. You will be based with a very supportive team at Sir John Robinson House, Arnold but working across the county as required. The post carries an authorised car user allowance.
These are permanent appointments. For an informal discussion about this post please contact Wendy Kozakis - Senior Practitioner, Communication and Interaction on term time only (Monday-Thursday)
Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Job Description / Person Specification
Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
