Full Job Description
As a therapist working in a community setting you will hold a caseload across our geographical area, supported by a band 7 therapist. Your role will be to evaluate and support the functional independence of children in a variety of settings, including mainstream & special schools. We have excellent links with other teams in Specialist Children's Services, Education and Social Care and value working collaboratively with others to meet the needs of children and families. Your clinical duties will include devising programmes and setting goals to develop skills, assessment and provision of specialist equipment including seating and coaching and close liaison with parents, carers and staff in educational settings. You will also be expected to contribute and support ongoing programmes of service developments and improvement., You will work as part of a supportive and friendly team based in The Den, our purpose built centre for Children's Services at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. Our service supports children and Young people from 0 -19 who have a functional difficulties associated with a physical disability or difficulty. We have a strong team identity and are working together to realise our vision of providing a sustainable, innovative, high quality service across North Derbyshire. This role is part of the integrated health and social care community across Derbyshire, where there are many opportunities to work across different locations and providers developing new and different skills. Whilst this role is initially based in Chesterfield there may be future opportunities to be based at different locations within the health and social care community which we may talk to you about in the future.
