Full Job Description

We provide autism diagnostic assessments, post-diagnosis support and consultation for adults (without a learning disability) in Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, and Hammersmith & Fulham. We work closely with local services, including mental health teams and adult social care. We provide compassionate, person-centred and evidence-based care. We have secured funding for developing new pathways., + We are seeking a Band 7 qualified psychologist interested in working with autistic adults. The post is until the end of March 2024 and may be extended. The successful candidate will, + Providing a qualified clinical psychology service to autistic adults (without a learning disability), in keeping with the pace of the service;
+ Providing autism diagnostic assessments;
+ Providing specialist psychological assessment and interventions;
+ Offering advice and consultation on clients' autistic presentation and needs, as well as psychological care to colleagues in non-autism services (e.g., mental health services, adult social care, inpatient teams, rough sleeping services);
+ Working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures;
+ Utilising research skills for audit, policy and service development and research;
+ Being involved in project work which can support service delivery and policy changes within the area served by the team/service.
You will work as part of the Central London Adult Autism Service in a variety of environments (e.g., community, home visits, inpatient) across the tri-borough (Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham). The work sometimes involves working with clients in emotionally charged or hostile situations. It frequently involves working in dynamic, fast-paced environment. It requires the ability to work effectively and compassionately under pressure of a full case load and having to make difficult priorities to meet competing needs.
