Full Job Description
- You will undertake specialist clinical assessments (psychometric, behavioural and neuropsychological, as appropriate) based upon the appropriate use, interpretation, and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with service users, family members and others involved in the care.
- Use assessment information to evaluate need and to inform decisions about clinical provision, also taking into account service user/carer views and the views of other professionals alongside information about historical, developmental and physical/ cognitive/ neurological processes and altered dynamics that have shaped the individual, family or group, relevant theoretical and therapeutic models, research findings and current evidence, and national and service guidance.
- Manage a clinical caseload and support the implementation of intervention plans with service users and their families/carers as well as with other services and agencies also involved in the care as required.
- Provide specialist psychological advice, consultation and clinical guidance to other professionals, carers, services and system partners, contributing directly to service users' formulations, diagnoses and treatment plans, within the service and area of specialism. This includes assistance and advice on issues of mental capacity and consent to treatment.
We are looking for an enthusiastic clinician who has experience & expertise working with complex cases within the area of older adult mental health care. Applications are invited for a full time Band 8A Clinical /Counselling Psychologist for the Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead Older Adult Mental Health Service. You will need to be motivated, forward thinking and have a compassionate approach. You will join a team of dynamic, supportive and passionate qualified & pre-qualification clinicians. Working as part of the clinical team and supported by senior clinicians, you will manage a clinical caseload and deliver high quality, safe and effective psychological interventions within the associated service and across all sectors of related care across Berkshire. Working as a senior clinician in a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for conducting highly specialist psychological and neuropsychological assessments, case formulations and delivering specialised evidence-based psychological interventions to service users presenting with psychological/ mental health/ organic concerns. You will be proficient in conducting comprehensive risk assessments, formulating effective risk management plans, and working alongside other agencies where wider case management is indicated. - Caring for and about you is our top priority
