Full Job Description

we have the opportunity for a part time, fixed term Band 6 Paediatric Physiotherapist to join the team. This will be within our Paediatric MSK service, providing clinic-based therapy to children from 4-15 with MSK related conditions and post operative non acute rehab needs.

This opportunity is open to physios with either Paediatric and/or MSK experience, looking to develop their skills with this client group. The MSK team is part of the Joint Paediatric Therapy Team in Salford, a progressive and supportive team who offer regular supervision, training, peer support and the opportunity to participate in service development.

The team consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants, who work Monday to Friday, and are based centrally with our Children's Health Service colleagues. The MSK service is run from 2 clinic bases in Salford and works closely with the wider service offering groups and hydrotherapy in addition to the individual treatment sessions.

The team is innovative, forward thinking, progressive and has a strong commitment to encouraging and promoting CPD.

This post is for 23.5 hours, ideally over 3 days. The actual days worked can be negotiated, as long as they include a Thursday along with how the hours are worked within the service hours of 8:15 and 5:30. For physios already working withing the NCA, this post could be considered as a part time secondment.

Working as part of the MSK physio team you will provide specialist advice on the management of musculoskeletal conditions to patients, carers and other healthcare/education professionals. A holistic approach to patient care is encouraged to ensure a child has the support and guidance to achieve their goals and optimise their full potential.

Our main client base includes children with sport and exercise associated pains or dysfunctions, non-acute post -operative/conservative management orthopaedic rehabilitation such as fractures or corrective surgery, orthopaedic conditions requiring ongoing physiotherapy needs such as Perthes disease and spinal/posture related conditions.

You will be required to work autonomously with close support from your Band 7 supervisor, Band 5 physiotherapist and senior therapy assistant. Training on paediatric specific conditions and management is available in house and we operate a team approach to caseload discussions and more complex cases.

You will be supported to develop your knowledge and skills through our established competency framework and will also have the opportunity to support and develop more junior members of the team and students.

As this role is within the community use of a car for work is desirable, however as the therapy is provided within community clinics as long as you are able to independently and efficiently travel to and from and between clinics, a car is not essential., core values - care, appreciate and inspire - to join our team.
