Full Job Description

You would form part of the Salford dietetic team, which consists of nearly 70 team members across acute and community including assistants and admin. You will primarily work alongside the neuro rehabilitation band 7 lead dietitian, rotational band 5 dietitian and dietetic assistant to deliver specialist clinical work and service development across the neurorehabilitation pathway of care. This will include the Level 1 hyperacute and acute neurorehabilitation wards (C2 and L1) at Salford Care Organisation, and the Level 2 post-acute unit in Rochdale (Floyd Unit). The neuro rehabilitation caseload is varied and exciting, consisting of a vast range of clinical conditions from neurosurgery, trauma, spinal, neuro oncology, neurology and many more. You will often be required to act in the best interests of patients, working closely with families and the wider MDT.
We are committed to CPD and developing our staff, you will take an active role in project work and service development. There will be opportunity to supervise junior team members and be involved in student dietetic training.
We welcome informal visits and enquiries., To assist the provision and optimisation of nutritional status of neuro rehabilitation patients admitted at Salford Care Organisation and the Floyd Rehabilitation Unit based in Rochdale. This will involve close working with ward teams and the wider MDT to further develop the service and deliver a high quality of care. There will also be opportunities to work with the wider dietetic team.
You will provide specialist nutrition and dietetic assessments to patients. This will involve making dietary recommendations after calculation of nutritional requirements based on interpretation of biochemistry, anthropometry, anatomy and physiology, clinical condition/prognosis and other physical parameters.
In addition to your own clinical you will be involved in MDTs, ward rounds, service development. Data collection and interpretation to aid quality improvement work will also be incorporated into the role.

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and innovative dietitian to join the neurosciences dietetic team in a static postition in neuro rehabilitation, primarily based at Salford Care Organisation.
