Full Job Description

We have a fantastic, fixed term opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Dietitian with an interest and experience in Diabetes, looking to develop their career in an acute hospital environment. Your primary role for 9 - 12 months will be within the multidisciplinary team of a large specialist diabetes service, featuring Type 1, Type 2 and gestational diabetes caseloads. You will manage a busy outpatient diabetes caseload, with the opportunity to develop skills in insulin pumps and hybrid closed loop technologies.
You will also provide regular dietetic sessions to adult wards across multiple specialities in support of the adult inpatient dietetic teams.
Our Nutrition and Dietetic Service is a diverse team of 28 staff, covering a range of specialist areas and working across 2 hospital sites. We also support the training of students from the University of Hertfordshire and Dietetic apprenticeships.
This role can be based at either Peterborough City or Hinchingbrooke Hospital and requires travel between sites for clinics. Band 5 -6 development post may be considered dependent on diabetes experience. Part time hours may also be considered to a minimum of 0.8 WT, · The post holder will have a specialist clinical role within the Nutrition and Dietetic Service, assessing and treating a caseload of in and outpatients and making clinical decisions for treatment plans.
· To provide a diabetes dietetic service across the Hinchingbrooke and Peterborough City Hospital sites of North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust as part of the multidisciplinary team.
· To provide inpatient dietetic care to adult patients across medical and surgical wards, in support of the dietetic adult inpatient teams.
· To deliver a high standard of evidence based dietetic care working within uni-professional and multi-professional team environments with regular supervision from the Highly Specialist Dietitians.
· To support the Highly Specialist Dietitian Team Lead in the development and maintenance of Nutrition and Dietetic Service standards, guidelines and evidence based practice within the area of diabetes.
