Full Job Description

The post holder will have the opportunity to provide support with UGI in and outpatients including complex surgical and oncology Home Enteral Feeding patients within this pathway. The successful candidate will support nutritional interventions including oral nutrition, enteral feeding, and the longer-term management of complex patients. Experience within surgery, oncology or gastroenterology would be desirable but not essential. You would work closely with the broader MDT to optimise patient care. The post holder will also support audit and service evaluation to demonstrate the benefits of dietetic input within these patient pathways.

You will have the opportunity to be involved in student training for both B and C placement students from the University of Nottingham.

If so, we have 1WTE band 6, temporary post available as part of our team at Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) NHS Trust. You will become an integral member of our supportive multidisciplinary team, working with 5 other experienced Upper GI dietitians, aiming to deliver high quality, patient centred, evidence based dietetic care.Your role would involve both surgical and oncology aspects of Upper GI with cancer and complex surgical patients. We provide care for patients living in Nottingham and the wider area.

The Dietetic service is part of the Therapies and Rehabilitation Services pathway, which is one of the pathways that together make up the Clinical Support Division at NUH. We are a diverse pathway of AHPs and support staff, employing over 600 staff, who works together to deliver the high quality care we aspire to. Our HCPC registered AHP professionals comprise of physiotherapists, dietitians, occupational therapists, orthotists, prosthetists and speech and language therapists. We have a Chief AHP to lead us on our strategic direction, and many of the pathway leadership team have pathway AHP backgrounds to support our staff. There are also Practice Development Therapists to support career development for all.
