Full Job Description
We wish to a appoint new Specialist Doctor colleague to join our expandingAnaesthetic services at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (GHNHSFT). The department has a good history of success at primary and final exams and we are keen to encourage applicants opportunity to be involved in teaching sessions. Candidates will be expected to have an annual appraisal; there will be support for this and the revalidation process., Integral to the responsibilities of the post are the following requirements to: o ensure the delivery of a high-quality patient-centred direct clinical care in trauma Anaesthetics o meet service delivery and improvements o provide effective leadership to all staff within an agreed sub-specialty, such as trauma or obstetrics o deliver teaching and training to others o work in accordance with our trust's procedures and operating policies o assume management or leadership roles in the trust o support the business plans and development strategies formulated for the specialty, the Medical Division and our Trust o work within the framework of team decisions o take a whole systems approach to working with the wider health community both NHS and social service
Applicants must have full registration with the General Medical Council and should have completed at least six years of full-time training and service in hospitals recognised by the Royal College of Anaesthetists. FRCA or equivalent diploma would be advantageous but not essential. The department requires these doctors to be ideally proficient in a broad range of anaesthetic skill and be prepared to enjoy a flexible model of service provision. This post will be based in Cheltenham or Gloucester, however, these are trust-wide appointments and candidates may sometimes be required to work on other sites, including on-call, within the trust.
