We are looking to recruit a full-time doctor to take up a Specialist role under 2021 contract terms in Ophthalmology. The main base is Chesterfield Royal, which is a busy and friendly district general hospital, where you will work as part of our well established ophthalmic team. The department has also developed good links and works collaboratively with local tertiary trusts in the surrounding area., If you're looking for flexible or predictable working arrangements, please speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate this. This role is part of the integrated health and social care community across Derbyshire, where there are many opportunities to work across different locations and providers developing new and different skills. Whilst this role is initially based in Chesterfield there may be future opportunities to be based at different locations within the health and social care community which we may talk to you about in the future.

This is a senior appointment for an individual possessing substantial experience in the ophthalmic field, and it is anticipated that the successful candidate will develop into a leadership role, taking responsibility for middle tier medical staff in addition to taking an active part in the operational management of the department and to the development of our expanding services
We are looking for an individual with good general ophthalmic skills with a willingness to develop sub-speciality skills, and it is anticipated that there will be opportunities for the appointee to develop further a nascent sub-specialty interest within the role.
