Specialist Doctor in Ophthalmology (with Paediatric subspecialty)

A post has arisen for an experienced ophthalmologist to work within the paediatric ophthalmology team. Other roles may include delivery adult motility services, cataract surgery or general ophthalmology dependent upon the successful candidate's skills.

This post will be based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle upon Tyne, but may involve clinics and operating at outreach sites. All routine cataract surgery takes place at the Newcastle Westgate Cataract Centre which is a mile from the RVI., To work in the paediatric ophthalmology team. Work will include paediatric clinics, theatre as well as adult motility surgery as well as some general work and cataract surgery. If CST is obtained the position of consultant can be considered.
