Full Job Description

Starrycare is looking for a highly experienced and dedicated Specialist Grade in Anaesthetics to join our growing healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide specialist anaesthetic services across a range of clinical areas, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. This role is ideal for an anaesthetist with substantial post-specialist training experience looking to take on a leadership role within the department., Provide comprehensive anaesthetic care for a range of surgical procedures, including elective and emergency surgeries.
Work closely with surgeons, theatre staff, and other medical professionals to deliver safe and effective anaesthetic care.
Manage pre-operative assessments, including evaluating patients' medical conditions and determining appropriate anaesthetic techniques.
Administer and monitor anesthesia during surgeries, ensuring patient safety and well-being throughout the procedure.
Provide post-operative pain management and care, including overseeing patient recovery from anesthesia.
Contribute to the management of patients in intensive care, particularly those requiring critical anaesthetic expertise.
Participate in the teaching, supervision, and training of junior medical staff, including specialist registrars and trainees.
Take a lead role in clinical governance, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and contributing to audits and quality improvement initiatives.
Participate in on-call rotas and respond to emergency cases as required.
Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to manage complex cases and improve patient outcomes.

Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) or equivalent in Anaesthesia.
Extensive experience in anaesthetics, with a focus on delivering specialist services.
Excellent clinical judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Proven leadership experience in managing complex cases and mentoring junior doctors.
Ability to manage high-pressure environments with critically ill patients.
Desirable:
Sub-specialty experience in areas such as pain management, critical care, or obstetric anaesthesia.
Experience in teaching, research, and involvement in clinical audits.
Advanced life support certifications (e.g., ALS, ATLS).
