This is a Specialist Psychiatrist in Recovery and Rehabilitation Service within the Southern Locality of the Adult Clinical Directorate The service is new and developing and has been created as part of the Community Mental Health Framework. Embrace flexibility associated with this post., The post holder will be providing the senior medical leadership to Rehab and Recovery service which involve both community and inpatient service The post holder will be available 9-5 Monday to Friday. The post holder will be currently based at Estuary House, Newton Abbot as well as Cypress Hospital in Newton Abbot. The post holder will work within MDT and offer assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients being managed by the Recovery and Rehabilitation Service as well as other expert clinical services in support of patients and their families/carers as judged necessary., Please refer to the full Job Description and Person specification attached to this advert which will provide further information on this role.,

  • Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983.
  • Good knowledge of relevant Mental Health legislation including the MCA.
  • Good knowledge of clinical risk management.
  • Good knowledge of evidence based strategies for management of psychiatric disorder., MB BS or equivalent.
  • GMC registration., Membership or Affiliateship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent.
  • Approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983., Minimum of 12 years medical work (either continuous period or in aggregate) since obtaining a primary medical qualification of which a minimum of six years should have been in a relevant specialty in the Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades. Equivalent years experience in a relevant specialty from other medical grades including from overseas will also be accepted., Experience at senior level working in the field of Psychiatry.
  • Experience of Home Treatment or equivalent.
  • Delivering supervision of non-medical prescribers., Ability to communicate with clarity in spoken and written form.
  • Flexible approach, keen to accept new challenges.

  • Well organised.
  • Willingness and ability to support other professions in achieving their educational aims.
  • Commitment to process of CPD.
  • Ability to organise own learning/CPD.
