Full Job Description
Looking for a new role? We have an exciting role for a Specialist Safeguarding Health Practitioner in the 0-18 Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). The role is within an Integrated Public Health Nursing Service, and we welcome suitably qualified applicants from diverse backgrounds. The vacancy is for part time hours (18.75 hours/2.5 days) in the Richmond MASH Hub. The role is based at the Kingston Guildhall (postcode KT1 1EU), an area with good transport links.
In order to be eligible for this post, applicants must be a qualified Specialist Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) (health visiting or school nursing).
Richmond 0-19 team is an innovative, forward thinking team, making a difference to the lives of families, children and young people in the borough. You will be required to search and collate relevant health information from a range of NHS providers both locally and nationally in line with MASH procedures, share information proportionately with partner agencies in line with policies. The MASH has been designed to facilitate information gathering and sharing within a fire-walled environment as per the pan-London information sharing agreements. At times, you will make telephone contact with families who have been referred to the Single Point of Access., You will support the multi-agency team, bring insight and provide expertise to child safeguarding that cannot be provided by other partners , attend meetings when required and feedback to the Locality Leads and Clinical Service Unit Manager (CSU).
We work very closely with our partner agencies to enrich the mix of skills available and strengthen our position as a service provider.
You need to have a passion for working with children, young people and families and safeguarding, and have a comprehensive understanding of the Public Health Agenda in Richmond. It is essential that you also have a thorough knowledge of the Healthy Child Programme (0-19), safeguarding and Central London Community Healthcare Values.
