Are you a dynamic and innovative midwife who would like to join our specialist service at Imperial?
This unique role is to cover 2 days diabetic midwifery service and cross cover between Queen Charlotte's and St. Mary's for the pre-term birth service.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced midwife to enhance their skills working collaboratively within 2 specialised services of Maternal/Diabetic Medicine, Centre for Fetal Care and the multidisciplinary team across health care settings to optimise their involvement with complex care pathways and improve health outcomes for diabetic women/birthing people and those identified at high risk for pre-term delivery.
You will be responsible for the providing support and reassurance to the women/birthing people who are referred to both these services.
You will require to keep data on outcomes and participate in ongoing or new audits and be involved in any QI projects related to the services. You will support individualised women/birthing people centred care, both diabetes and pre-term birth service
It is essential that you have an understanding of the Maternity National Drivers that relate to pre-term birth and diabetes
This role is fixed term for 1 year., + Provide high quality, effective midwifery care that is evidence based and woman/birthing people centred according to their individualised personal care plan or pathway.
+ Ensure the safety and adherence to policies in both clinical services.
+ Support women/birthing people and their families in sensitive and emotional circumstances.
+ Provide psychological support to women/birthing people where required and make appropriate referrals.
+ Demonstrate authetic and supportive leadership with a focus on staff well being.
+ Ensure collabroative working relationships are upheld with the multi-disciplinary team and other service areas within the Trust.
+ Support and guide staff in their professional development.
+ Work collaboratively with matrons and other key stakeholders.
