In this role, you will be involved in integrating genomic medicine into prenatal care, offering specialised support for patients under maternity and genomic services. Key responsibilities include educating regional maternity teams on genomic services and facilitating high-quality, timely referrals for complex genetic cases. You will also help to organize regional engagement days and establish a strong network of referrers across multiple hospitals-a core component of this role and one of the primary performance indicators.

We are seeking an experienced Band 6 Specialist Midwife to join the Genomic Medicine team at Saint Mary's Hospital, Manchester, for a fixed term project. This post is ideal for midwives with a strong interest in genomics and insight into genomic healthcare.
This role will place you at the forefront of genomic medicine in maternity care, focusing on prenatal and reproductive genetics. As a Specialist Midwife in Genomic Medicine, you will work closely with geneticists, genomic counsellors, and maternity services to provide high-quality, personalised care for pregnancies involving genetic complexities. Your expertise will help to guide families and other healthcare professionals and patients through the genetic services, ensuring safe, supportive, and informed care.
