Full Job Description

A rare and exciting development opportunity has arisen for an individual to work within the haematology clinical nurse specialist team. This would suit a nurse with a special interest in haematology and stem-cell transplant/apheresis. The haematology CNS team are committed to providing specialised, excellent care and treatment and wish to continue in our drive to further improve the service to our patients. As a specialist nurse within haematology you will develop your role within a variety of clinical settings, including the acute in-patient ward, out-patient department and the Headland Unit which is a specialised day-case unit.

The Haematology team are a dynamic, forward-thinking team, consisting of seven consultants, a specialist registrar and a haemostasis CNS team, all providing care across the inpatient and outpatient setting.

As a specialist nurse you will need to possess excellent communication skills, have an understanding of chronic and malignant haematological conditions and show the desire to further enhance their knowledge and skills within this specialised area

This is a full time post, working 37.5 hours per week., The post holder will be responsible for providing specialist nursing advice and psychological support to haematology patients and their families.

The post holder will be an experienced nurse who uses specialist knowledge and skills to act as a resource, providing advice and education in relation to all aspects of haematological care to health care professionals across all settings whilst working under the supervision of the Band 7 Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialists
