Full Job Description
The successful candidate will work alongside Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Support workers and nursing staff to achieve patient's rehabilitation and discharge goals within the acute medical setting.
- To assess, diagnose/interpret and manage own specialist caseload of complex patientsas an autonomous practitioner in accordance with Professional Code of Conduct andHealth and Care Professions Council Regulations.
- To have developed, through experience and postgraduate training, the specialist knowledge and clinical skills required for the post.
- The post holder will work in close co-operation with colleagues within all Care Groups todeliver a cohesive service that is user led ensuring a consistently high standard of patient care, optimal patient flow and safe timely discharge.
- To work closely with team co-ordinators and senior therapists to ensure a robust structure of training, supervision and appraisal is delivered to all members within theteam.
- To work closely with team co-ordinators and senior therapists to ensure the delivery ofan efficient operational service.
- To act as a source of Specialist advice and support within the Therapy Centre and across the Trust and the wider health economy.
- To have highly effective communication skills and demonstrate these on a continualbasis with patients, carers, colleagues and the wider Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT).

Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for an opportunity to utilise and develop your clinical skills & leadership abilities? If so, our static, fixed term Band 6 Occupational Therapy position may be perfect for you. All of our specialist Occupational Therapists receive supervision & mentorship from a member of our highly specialist team. They will offer direction in terms of clinical development and leadership development, whilst you continue to learn & utilise the holistic patient centred therapy skills core to the Occupational Therapy profession. The successful applicant must have NHS experience. 1 part-time fixed term of 12 months until 31-8-2025 (0.8 WTE) position is available at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. The successful candidate will be expected to work 30 hours across a 7 day pattern. This role would be delivered over 4 days of 7.5 hours per day.
