Full Job Description

B6 Specialist Occupational Therapist working as part of Durham & Darlington' Community Rehabilitation & Recovery Team based at Lanchester Road Hospital, Durham. The successful candidate will be able to progress their own caseload to the highest standard and support other Occupational Therapists in the team., An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic full time Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated team of occupational therapists who work as part of our specialist 'Community Rehabilitation & Recovery Team'. This established post is targeted at working with adults with complex mental health problems who have who have rehabilitation needs . Patients originate from a variety of (adult mental health) inpatient wards or community teams in the Durham & Darlington locality.

This is a great development opportunity for staff with existing mental health experience who wish to broaden their knowledge further into this highly specialist service area.

Occupational therapy will be provided as a deliverable intervention which aims to support users in personally meaningful recovery of ordinary lives and daily occupation/s. A commitment to assessment of occupational need and the therapeutic use of occupation based intervention as core to role is essential.

The occupational therapist will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team committed to collaborative working, and focusing on the provision of high quality evidence based services to individuals or groups in a variety of predominantly community settings.
