Full Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Band 6 Occupational Therapist within the role you will have your own caseload providing specialist assessments and therapeutic interventions for service users. Within the team you will be responsible for supporting others through supervision and providing learning opportunities. - The therapy team at Newton Lodge consists of a Band 7 OT Lead, three Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapists, five Band 5 Occupational Therapists, a Technical Instructor, a Horticultural therapist and a Tutor. The service generally operates Mon-Fri, 08.30-16.30, although flexibility in this can be discussed. We provide Occupational Therapy across 7 medium secure wards, supporting service users experiencing mental health difficulties or learning disabilities. We are a supportive team and work closely with the wider MDT. We adopt a recovery based approach, using evidence based interventions and professional models (e.g MOHO) to inform our practice and ensure the
delivery of high quality care.

COT Diploma, BSc/BA, MA Occupational Therapy - HCPC State Registration - Enthusiastic, motivated, professional, resourceful, flexible and adaptable - Able to self direct and have good time management skills - Able to use tact/diplomacy and common sense - Committed to team working and providing the best possible patient care - Able to adapt to change and lead others as a positive change agent - Act as a positive role model to other members of the team - Able to provide leadership to the team and encourage reflection on practice - Ability to travel around the Trust as appropriate to the role
