Full Job Description
We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and passionate Band 6 Occupational Therapist within the Adult Community Learning Disabilities Team based Alfred Bean Hospital based in Driffield. The successful candidate will work as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team providing assessments and treatments to adults with a learning disability and often complex needs., Manage a caseload of service users with complex needs, using evidence based/client centred principles.Assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions to enhance the quality of life for the patient. Interventions will include psychosocial and physical health/equipment interventions as well as more specialist work such as using a sensory based approach.
Use standardised and non-standardised assessments to ascertain patients care needs and inform intervention.
Assess for and prescribe appropriate equipment and advise on moving and handling.
Contribute to the wider MDT working and interventions such as positive behavioural support.
Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy Services. Provide outcomes for the service and service users by using agreed tools/assessments.Contribute to the development and maintenance of Occupational Therapy within the Trust. Ensure OT provision is delivered in accordance with HCPC and Royal College of Occupational Therapy (RCOT) requirements.Provide supervision for junior staff.
