Full Job Description
- To work as a specialist clinician to utilise, develop and enhance Occupational Therapy clinical and professional skills within the service to deliver high standards of practice.
- To apply the Occupational Therapy process within a multi-disciplinary format providing specialist assessment and treatment in clinical care pathways.
- To take a lead in developing the Service. This involves promoting high quality clinical practice and ensuring professional standards are maintained in the workplace.
- To deliver a specialist Occupational Therapy Service to patients within a variety of settings, requiring flexibility / adaptability in recognising the complexity of these environments to maximise their abilities and opportunities for occupational wellbeing., Details of our benefits, leadership behaviours and other important information can be found in the Information for Applicants, please view the supporting documents. For all substantive roles, new staff (excluding medical staff) are appointed subject to a 6-month probationary period (see Probation Policy). All jobs will require permission to work in the UK. For all jobs the cost of any DBS disclosure required will be met by the individual. This will be deducted from salary once started.
Do you have experience working as an Occupational Therapist within the field of stroke and neurology assessment and rehabilitation? Do you have experience and enjoy working in Community Services in patients' own homes, community settings and clinics? If yes, read on this could be the perfect opportunity for you! We have an exciting opportunity for a flexible, enthusiastic and committed Specialist Occupational Therapist to work in the Community Integrated Neurology and Stroke Service (CINSS) which is integral to Community Health Services. The CINSS model of care involves transformation and partnership working across organisational and multi professional boundaries. The successful candidate will join a specialist multi-professional team comprising of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Neuropsychology, Neurology Rehabilitation Consultant and Generic Rehabilitation Technical Instructors, working closely with Speech and Language Therapy services. The team provides patient centred, goal directed specialist neurological rehabilitation in community and outpatient settings. This post requires an experienced and dedicated Occupational Therapist who can work closely with existing Specialist Occupational Therapists, Specialist Physiotherapists and the wider multi disciplinary team. You will need clinical skills and experience working in the field of neurology and / or stroke and experience working within the community setting would be desirable. Excellent organisational, communication and team working skills are required. You will receive supervision on a regular basis with a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist and have opportunities to part take in service development and in-service training. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team delivering specialist rehabilitation across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The team's hub is at Braunstone Health and Social Care Centre (BHSCC), along with spoke bases across Leicester City, Leicestershire and Rutland. The base for this role will be discussed with the successful candidate and full time and part time hours will be considered.
