Specialist Occupational Therapist - Rheumatology

To provide an effective service delivery and to be responsible for junior Occupational Therapy staff within the speciality.

To manage an agreed caseload of patients within the service speciality area.

To assist senior staff in the designated area of speciality to implement and meet the recognised professional standards, the agreed therapy pathway and best practice.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Band 6 Occupational Therapist with experience in Rheumatology and/or Hand Therapy to join our friendly and experienced Occupational Therapy Outpatient team atLeamington Spa Rehabilitation Hospital.

You will have some experience of working in Rheumatology and/or Hand Therapy, and be motivated to develop your skills and knowledge in this specialist environment.

Alongside specialist assessment skills, you should have experience in the fabrication and provision of bespoke splintsandpre-fabricated splints, as well as experience in equipment provision to to support patients with their daily activities.

The successful applicant will be part of a team which thrives on developing and maintaining a high quality Occupational Therapy service. Your knowledge and experience will contribute to Clinical Audits and service reviews that demonstrate standards expected from the Care Quality Commission, RCOT and HCPC professional standards.

There will be opportunities for you to develop and engage in professional leadership and operational managerial activities, supervision and appraisals of support workers and junior OT colleagues within the specialty.
