Full Job Description

Are you a B5 Occupational Therapist, or current B6, looking to further your OT career and not sure where you want to specialise, or desiring a change? Then this may be the perfect opportunity for you! We have a rotational B6 opportunity for an OT who wants to consolidate their clinical skills, by rotating through different clinical areas, whilst growing and developing their leadership and management skills. The post holders will rotate through the following teams: Cancer care, Surgery, Critical Care, Cardiothoracic, Vascular, AMU, Medicine, Medicine for Older People, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Neurosciences, stroke, and a new Single-handed care rotation, on a 9-month rotational basis. Please note: Other areas may be added in future as this rotation progresses. As this post is part of the wider Therapy services department, you will have many opportunities to develop new skills and knowledge through our in-service training. You will be part of a large department of over 300 wte Therapy staff including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy support staff. We provide a 7-day therapy service for our Trust and therefore you need to be able to work weekends and bank holiday, in a rota basis., What you'll be doing: The main responsibilities of this new post include:

  • Working across several clinical areas to perform assessments; formulate treatment plans and
  • goal setting, with a highly diverse range of patients.
  • Working closely with specialised MDT to allow for the seamless care of patients, and successful
  • transitions, from the hyper acute to the home setting.
  • Involvement in training and development, with both the therapy team, members of the MDT,
  • and patients/carers.
  • The development of professional leadership and management skills, through on the job
  • learning, supervision, and in-service training.
