Full Job Description

Are you an experienced Band 5 Occupational Therapist or already a band 6 Occupational Therapist looking for a new challenge whilst continuing to develop your clinical experience and specialism?, You will need to possess a general knowledge of Trauma and Orthoapedics conditions; including Frailty and Dementia and have an interest in Orthopaedic pre-assessment and post op care in line with national guidelines. You will be required to ensure that patients return home or transfer to intermediate care services at their optimum/to optimise their level of functioning. You will be expected to have skills to participate as a key member of the Multi-disciplinary Team ensuring a safe and timely transfer of patients into appropriate community setting.

You will be expected to show a keen interest in service development as well as being expected to participate in the in-service training programme for the specialty and to deliver fieldwork education to professional undergraduate and postgraduate students.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, innovative Occupational Therapist who is interested in expanding their knowledge and skills across Trauma and Orthopaedics. You will need good clinical skills, a flexible approach; including excellent team working, organisational and time management skills.

The Therapy service is integral to patient flow in and out of the busy acute hospital and we are involved in new developments to provide care at the right time, in the right place, and with the right professional. For this reason we are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to work within Therapy Services alongside nursing and medical colleagues on admission avoidance to promote real improvements in patient safety, patient experience and clinical effectiveness.

We have already made substantial progress following our CQC visit and this has been recognised by NHS Improvement. We are committed to delivering high quality care in our wards and services and as part of our improvement plans.
