Full Job Description

Specialist Optometrists at NUH provide a wide range of core clinical services and, with support of the Consultant Ophthalmologists, Optometrists are extensively involved in a range of extended roles, including Cataract, Eye casualty, PCO same day assessment and treatment service, Glaucoma, Keratoconus, Macula and, Diabetic hospital and screening clinics

An experienced and committed optometrist is required to join our team on a part-time basis.

The role is suitable for optometrists with previous post-registration hospital experience, or for a candidate with less experience starting at band 6 with progression through to band 7 during the apprenticeship period.The successful candidate will be supported in their development, the Ophthalmology department also supports the achievement of Independent prescribing qualification., If you are an enthusiastic, highly motivated optometrist, with good communication skills and the ability to be adaptable to the changing needs of the department, this role is an opportunity to work in a large teaching hospital with a varied caseload and will include participation in both core and a selection of extended role ophthalmology clinics in line with the apprenticeship programme.
