Specialist Pharmacist

To provide expert pharmacy leadership to ensure Independent Health Group is operating within current legislation, accepted professional and ethical standards and clinical requirements. To plan, deliver and review pharmaceutical care to ensure the care patients receive is excellent. Be accountable for ensuring effective policies and process are in place to ensure safe and effective use of medication across all services. Leading improvement workstream as required., Management of medicines:

• To provide expert pharmacy leadership ensuring effective policies and process are in place to ensure safe and effective use of medication across all services.
• To provide advice and support to the Medical Director, Chief Nurse, and other clinicians to ensure the safe, appropriate, and cost-effective use of medicines.
• To ensure Independent Health Group have safe and effective processes in place for the safe management of medicines, ensure compliance with current legislation and professional standards
• Ensure any incidents involving medications are managed and appropriate actions taken. Leading improvement workstreams as required.
• To maintain registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) fulfilling the continued professional development, ensuring any specialist training requirements are kept up to date.
• Provide training related to medicines management as required.
• To undergo annual individual performance review.
Communication
• To liaise closely with other healthcare professionals in relation to patient care related to any matters relating to medicines management.
• To maintain patient confidentiality and always meet the requirements of the Data Protection Act.
• To attend and actively contribute to Clinical Review meetings.

We were set up in 2004 by Dr Matthew Wordsworth with the aim of offering patients the choice of being treated out of hospital, closer to home. Matt wanted to create a new health care organisation in which like-minded health care professionals could deliver patient centred care at the highest standard. Our aim was to be a leading provider of community-based diagnostic and treatment services of the highest quality, where patients always come first. In the summer of 2022 we have proven this, with our Outstanding CQC rating! Since 2004 we have increased the range of services we offer and the sites we work from, but we still believe that Independent Health Group offers you an opportunity to make a real difference to patients care and treatment.
