Full Job Description
We are looking for a forward thinking, enthusiastic pharmacist to help deliver out-patient services and work with the specialist pharmacy teams providing services across the trust. This is a full-time post. The post holder will be required to participate in the on-call (back up), weekend, bank holiday and late-night duty rotas. The London North West Hospitals NHS Trust consists of Northwick Park and St Mark's hospitals in Harrow, Central Middlesex Hospital in Park Royal, and Ealing Hospital. Between Northwick Park, St Mark's and Central Middlesex Hospitals we care for more than half a million people living across Brent and Harrow as well as patients from all over the country and internationally at St Mark's, our specialist hospital for bowel diseases. This makes us one of the biggest and busiest NHS trusts in the capital. Key duties include: working as part of a team in the provision of out-patient pharmacy services for immunosuppressant and disease modifying drugs; collaboratively working with specialist teams for developing clinical pharmacy services, facilitating training of permanent and rotating staff, including mentoring and tutoring; supporting the lead patient services pharmacist in the roll out of patient centre consultations.
You will need to be a GPhC registered pharmacist with a certificate in pharmacy practice or equivalent and broad hospital-based experience. You will need to have excellent communication skills and enjoy working as part of a large multi-disciplinary team. You will also need to be friendly, approachable, adaptable, flexible, willing to learn new skills and be committed to continuous professional development.
London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWH) cares for the people of Brent, Ealing, Harrow and beyond. Our team of more than 8,200 clinical and support staff serve a diverse population of almost one million people. We run major acute services at:
- Northwick Park Hospital: home to one of the busiest emergency departments (A&E) in the country. The hospital provides a full range of services including the country's top-rated hyper-acute stroke unit and one of only three hyper-acute rehabilitation units in the UK
- St Mark's Hospital: an internationally renowned specialist centre for bowel disease
- Ealing Hospital: a busy district general hospital providing a range of clinical services, as well as 24/7 emergency department and urgent care centre, and specialist care at Meadow House Hospice
- Central Middlesex Hospital: our planned care site, hosting a range of surgical and outpatient services and collocated with an urgent care centre. We are a university teaching NHS trust, in recognition of the important role we play in training clinicians of the future and bringing the benefits of research to the public.
