Specialist Physiotherapist - Generic Rotation

We have created a generic in-patient rotation for B6 Physiotherapists who want to consolidate their clinical skills, by rotating through different clinical areas, whilst growing and developing their leadership and management skills. To understand the day-to-day responsibilities in more detail please read the full job description document attached., The postholder will rotate through the following teams: Medicine, Medicine for Older People, Surgery, cancer care, and neurology on a 9-month rotational basis. Please note: Other areas may be added in future as this rotation progresses. As this post is part of the wider Therapy services department, you will have many opportunities to develop new skills and knowledge through our in-service training. You will be part of a large department of over 300 wte Therapy staff including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy support staff. We provide a 7-day therapy service for our Trust and therefore you need to be able to work weekends and bank holiday, in a rota basis. For Physiotherapists this includes our respiratory out of hours service (On-call). The main responsibilities of this new B6 Physiotherapy post include: - Working across a number of clinical areas to perform assessments; formulate treatment plans and goal setting, with a highly diverse range of patients. - Working closely with specialised MDT to allow for the seamless care of patients, and successful transitions, from the hyper acute to the home setting. - Involvement in training and development, with both the therapy team, members of the MDT, and patients/carers. - The development of professional leadership and management skills, through on the job learning, supervision, and in-service training., written using AI or a computer system might not be considered. Patient has been admitted with an unconfirmed metastatic cord compression and yet to be seen by the doctors 2. Patient with has an epidural in situ for pain management post operatively 3. • Qualified Physiotherapist with a broad range of post-qualification experience
• Current HCPC registration
• Evidence of experience using specialist equipment, including respiratory
• Documented evidence of experience doing shifts within an acute respiratory on-call out of
hours service - including intensive care, both adults and children.
• Experience as a student supervisor.
• Clear desire for wanting to work in UHS therapy service on your application form.
• Clear expressed desire for undertaking a generic rotation in an acute Trust.
• Clear knowledge of NHS systems, evident in application form
