Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapist to join a highly experienced multi-professional health team working with people with learning disabilities in Oldham.

This is a band 5 to 6 Physiotherapy Development Post. On successful completion of your development programme, you will be able to progress to a Band 6 Physiotherapist role within the Team.

We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated physiotherapist who is willing to challenge themselves and continue their learning journey. You will be part of a friendly and supportive team and will be using evidence-based / patient-centred principles to perform physiotherapy assessments and then plan, implement and evaluate treatment interventions.

The successful applicant will work under the supervision of the lead physiotherapist, with regular training, support and supervision provided. A structured development plan will be set out with clear objectives and the expected timeframe for completion. The post-holder will have 18 months to work towards and complete the objectives. Upon completion, the post-holder will progress to the minimum pay point of band 6., The role involves all aspects of Physiotherapy assessment , intervention , collaboration with multidisciplinary team and members of the community and third party organisations. Caseload management and task delegation with supervision of therapy assistants.

HCPC Registered Physiotherapist.

Experience of and commitment to Multidisciplinary team working.

Knowledge of a range of therapeuticinterventions appropriate to the client

group/s.

An understanding of commondisabilities and a range of treatment

approaches.

Be willing to be involved in service development.

Desirable:

Experience of working with adults with a learning disability and/or Autism.

Experience and Knowledge in Positioning and 24 hr Posture Management including Specialist Seating
