Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced band 6 Physiotherapist to join our outstanding Stroke team here at Salford Royal, part of the Northern Care alliance. You will have the opportunity to rotate between the Hyper-acute and Stroke rehabilitation in-patient services. You will work closely with MDT colleagues to enable the best possible outcomes for patients.
You will be well supported by the experienced band 7 physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy team leads to provide Physiotherapy assessments & interventions, alongside supervising Band 5, therapy assistants and student members of the team.
As a valued member of the team you will be encouraged to be proactive in supporting the team leads with service development as well as contribute to local and national data collection and audit in return the team and the wider Physiotherapy department will support your professional development
You will work closely with other Greater Manchester Stroke teams and community colleagues to ensure a smooth transition from our hospital to other stroke rehab units and the wider community setting.
Contribution to weekend working and respiratory on-call is essential., + To work within the In-Patient Stroke Physiotherapy Service clinical setting.
+ To undertake advanced assessment and treatment of stroke patients, who may have complex and/or chronic presentations.
+ To develop specialist treatment plans and provide the rehabilitative input indicated and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
+ Contribute to data collection for both local and national audits.
+ To lead assessment, liaison, and decision-making processes for patients.
+ To undertake a significant clinical caseload to a high professional standard, using specialist stroke knowledge from theoretical and practical experience.
+ To support the team lead and service manager in the planning, co-ordination, and evaluation of the MSK Physiotherapy Service on a day-to-day basis, and to cover for any other area with this specific caseload as necessary.
+ Be able to deputise for the Band 7 in their absence and attend meetings as required.
+ To be able to work across 7 days and contributing to weekend working and contribution to the respiratory on-call rota.
