Full Job Description

This specialist team is made up of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists who work as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team to deliver high quality therapy and rehabilitation for inpatients who have experienced acute stroke and a range of acute neurological conditions. The service is part of the Integrated Stroke Pathway, working closely with colleagues in the Community Stroke Team in order to provide a seamless transition from the acute setting to community., · To prioritise, plan and deliver clinical case work within the Stroke Unit
· To apply evidence based, specialist knowledge and skills to the stroke/rehab' patients on the Stroke Unit.
· Provide a key role in partnership working with patients, carers, the MDT, and wider statutory, private and voluntary sector services.
· To support team members in ensuring the effective functioning of the team
· To actively participate in quality improvements to improve the Integrated Stroke Pathway
· Provide support to the clinical lead and service managers deputising for them as required
· Provide effective student training and development
· To undertake respiratory on-call work following training and competence assessment, and to join the respiratory on-call rota
