Are you a qualified NHS Physiotherapist looking for your next career step? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Specialist Physiotherapist to work within Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Intermediate Care Rehabilitation Beds.
As a Specialist Physiotherapist you will be working alongside a team of other Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and support staff, to deliver rehabilitation and ongoing care.The Team provides therapy and nursing input into 92 beds based within different care homes throughout the City.
Our caseload is referred to us from the Acute Hospital wards for patients with complex medical history including fractures, frailty, respiratory issues, cardiac conditions, amputations and neurology problems. Our patients are with us for a short term rehabilitation programme to facilitate returning home as quickly as possible., You will be clinically responsible for a designated caseload of patients/clients based in our community units and to organise this effectively and efficiently with regard to clinical priorities and use of time.
We are looking for an individual who enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team to deliver the best possible care for patients. You should possess excellent communication skills, and ideally have post-registration experience within rehabilitation settings.
You will apply clinical reasoning skills and specialist knowledge of physiological processes with neurological, musculoskeletal/Orthopaedic conditions and be able to recognise when a patient may need onward referral. Formulating and undertaking evidence-based rehabilitation plans is crucial to this role taking into account the management options available.
You will have the guidance and supervision of our clinical specialists and wider team, to offer support and help you manage your caseload of complex patients.
We offer in-service training programs to support staff to continue with postgraduate training and develop both clinical and leadership skills along with regular supervision/mentorship and there are also opportunities to get involved in service improvement.
Applicants should possess discharge planning skills and be an exemplary team worker. Good communication skills are essential and you should be comfortable with dealing with multiple agencies and family members. You must possess appropriate clinical skills to delivery safe and effective physiotherapy treatment and goal setting to our elderly client group.
