Full Job Description

You will be able to assess and treat patients with a range of conditions, including acute respiratory needs and be comfortable in providing training and teaching. You will be familiar with complex discharges, MDT working and advocating for patients. You will be responsible for your own inpatient caseload as well as supporting band 5 therapists, support workers and students. You will work within a senior structure that provides peer support and training., Please refer to the attached job description and person specification. Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assessing and treating patients as appropriate in the relevant areas
Working as part of multidisciplinary teams in all clinical areas.
Supervising more junior staff (including Band 5, support workers and students)
Deputising for Band 7's as appropriate
Working flexibly - including late shifts, weekend and out of hours rotas
Working alongside the band 7's and seniors in the team to develop the service in line with evidence based practice
Supporting student placements within the team and providing formal and informal training
Providing a supportive and learning environment for team members; including undertaking annual appraisals and supporting health and wellbeing.
Leading by example ensuring that NUH's values and behaviours are embedded in everyday practice.

This role would be ideal for a highly motivated professional who has an interest in inpatient care and developing broad skills across specialties. Experience of service development and leadership qualities is desirable but these skills will be developed in this role.

This post will allow a physiotherapist with a keen interest in inpatient care to expand both their clinical skills and leadership of a busy and responsive service, with a focus on patient flow whilst ensuring excellent patient care isn't compromised.

Permanent static Band 6 post, 37.5h per week
Core hours are worked Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm; flexible working will be considered
Additional duties will include participation in on call and weekend working as well as a late shifts (1-9PM). These are approximately 1-2 per month.

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
