Full Job Description

UHCW NHS Trust is looking for highly motivated Physiotherapist to join the in-patient medicine team based at Coventry., The caseload includes patients transferred from Critical Care, to support their rehabilitation programme , optimising exercise tolerance and functional recovery. The Medicine Therapy Team supports the following patient specialities (not exhaustive):

  • Cardiology
  • Renal
  • Respiratory
  • Infectious Diseases
  • Endocrinology
  • Oncology & Haematology
  • General Acute Medicine
  • We have a 2 week supernumerary programme which will support your induction into the Trust and wider Therapies teams.
  • To provide Respiratory Physiotherapy, including on the on-call rota and at weekends
  • To support the learning and development of students and staff
  • To develop enhanced clinical skills and knowledge in an area of interest linked with patient cohorts (e.g. frailty, specific clinical condition, prehabilitation / acute rehabilitation)
  • To participate in 7-day working patterns as required

You will require good all-round knowledge and skills to meet the needs of the diverse caseload and have the respiratory skills to support our on-call rota along with a passion to explore and develop your area of interest. Your skills and knowledge will be enhanced through our specialist Simulation Training programme that supports on-call staff. Our Cardiac Unit is a leading centre for the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with a wide range of heart conditions and we are the regional centre for Nephrology and Transplantation for Coventry and Warwickshire.
