Full Job Description
UHCW NHS Trust is seeking a Physiotherapy to specialise in Neurosciences. The Neurosciences team supports both our Neurology and Neurosurgical wards. This includes a 12 bedded Neuro Enhanced Care Unit (NECU), which includes patients who may be acutely unwell, or have complex respiratory needs including tracheotomies. UHCW provides a national and international service for more specialised neurosurgical conditions including skull base and vascular surgery, hydrocephalus, neuro-oncology (resection of brain tumours using multi-modality imaging and awake craniotomy). The Neurosciences unit is the sub-regional centre for the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with a wide range of neurological and neurosurgical conditions such as Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, head injuries, spinal disease, vascular disorders and tumours of the nervous system. As a Major Trauma Centre, the Neurosciences team are integral to the assessment and management of patients with complex brain and spinal injuries. If you have an interest in these clinical areas, then the post will offer a range of clinical opportunities to develop, as well as the support to engage in project service improvement work. You will be able to develop and utilise your leadership skills, through the supervision and training of staff and students. Orientation training will be provided prior to participation.
- The post holder will manage a caseload of patients with varying diagnosis and / or complex needs, using evidence based practice and client-centred principles, to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in a defined clinical setting.
- The post holder will participate in the planning, development and evaluation of clinical practice and service development within the area.
- The post holder will ensure development of staff and students through supervision, training, and appraisal.

- To provide Respiratory Physiotherapy, including on the on-call rota and at weekends
- To support the learning and development of students and staff
